Radio 2 DJ hangs up headphones due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis diagnosis which makes breathing difficultThe veteran radio DJ Johnnie Walker has signed off his final episode of BBC Radio 2’s Sounds of the 70s after 58 years with the corporation.Walker, 79, announced earlier in October he was hanging up his headphones due to ill health. He had been diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a severe respiratory illness that can make breathing very difficult.
