Brits heading to Europe today (Monday, March 31) were greeted with delays and cancellations after a lorry crashed into a plane at a Paris airport. In the aftermath of the collision at Orly Airport, photos revealed a mangled cab with its windscreen smashed.

The yellow service truck ploughed into a 15-year-old Airbus A320 in the early hours of this morning, leaving the aircraft's fuselage seemingly seriously damaged. Thankfully, no passengers were injured in the crash as it occurred during a night stop with no passengers onboard.

Speaking to The Mirror, a spokesperson from EasyJet said: "easyJet can confirm that an airport vehicle struck an aircraft at Paris Orly airport while it was parked overnight and no passengers were onboard. The aircraft will undergo the required inspections and repairs in line with manufacturer instructions.", reports the Mirror.

Just last week, a vehicle crashed into a railway bridge near Gatwick, wrecking plans for scores of travellers on March 25.

The Gatwick Express confirmed that the vehicle had hit a bridge in Earlswood, blocking tracks and leading to delays and cancellations between Gatwick and East Croydon.

A National Rail spokesperson said: "Network Rail will be sending engineers as quickly as possible to check the bridge for any damage, and if it's safe to do so, the route will be reopened. If you see a vehicle hitting a bridge, or you think a bridge has been damaged, please report it using the phone number on the identification plate fixed to the bridge. If no plate is provided, please report it to the police by calling 999."
