In the opening episode, audiences met Emma and John Barnett, who live with their teenage daughter, Beth. Nick is also concerned that the noise will disrupt his sleep, and that increased traffic will cause problems on the street. He opts to install CCTV to monitor the situation.
Sonia, however, is delighted that her friends are staying put. Despite the backlash, Emma proceeds with the extension and does everything in her power to secure planning permission as swiftly as possible.
