Emmerdale fans are convinced they know who is really behind the mysterious incidents which have continued to affect Chas and Liam. In recent episodes, Ella Forster (Paula Lane) has been at the centre of a whirlwind storyline, after Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) collapsed to the floor in The Woolpack.

The character was injured during the fatal limo crash earlier this year, which led to the deaths of Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough), Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson).

Chas had been taking codeine after suffering from back pain following the crash. She was taken to hospital after overdosing on her medication, which resulted in her fall in the pub.

While at the hospital, the nurse asked: "The codeine you've been prescribed for your back injury, have you been taking it exactly as you were instructed?" But her fiancé Liam's concerns began to grow, as he suspected someone else was responsible for Chas' overdose.

In a twisted turn of events, it was Ella who took the blame for the incident despite insisting she wasn't responsible. The local doctor immediately pointed his finger at Ella, who became number one suspect as the "psycho" ex-girlfriend who had a real motive to harm Liam's new fiancée.

Manpreet kicked Ella out of her house and she left the village. During Wednesday's (April 2) broadcast of the ITV soap, Ella's name was mentioned once again as Chas and Liam's wedding had been cancelled by a suspicious email address.

Belle had received an email to cancel the wedding, leaving Chas furious. When she considered who could be responsible for doing such a thing, her suspicions immediately turned to Ella.

Later in the episode, a window was smashed and again the villagers pointed the finger straight to Ella. Liam said: "She's getting out of control" as the couple reported her to the police.

At the end of the episode, Ella made a return to the village and could be seen watching Chas and Liam from afar. Meanwhile, Chas told her fiancé: "You've got to stop treating Ella like some little kid lashing out, she's dangerous."

Despite the villagers all taking a turn against Ella, Emmerdale fans are convinced that someone else is also involved. Taking to social media, one fan said: "It’s not Ella, it’s psycho John who’s behind all what’s going on with Liam and the wonderful Chas."

More added to the conversation on X: "I refuse to believe Ella is this obsessed with Liam. Convinced John is playing a role in making her look like more of a stalker than she is so he can get involved & try and look like a hero."

Other fans agreed John is also prime suspect for the unusual activity in the village: "Bad boy John behind the torment of Liam and Chas. When the window was smashed, Aaron, Liam and Chas were in the living room with John nowhere to be seen."

John has got a motive as Chas is set to be his future mother in law. He proposed to his boyfriend Aaron Dingle while the couple attended Chas and Liam's engagement party a few weeks ago.

The protective mum was not best pleased about their announcement, warning her son about committing his life to John. Therefore, it makes sense that John may be eager to get revenge, or perhaps find a way to get closer to his new family.
