A body has been found in a river during searches for a man last seen at a garden centre. David Bevan, 28, was reported missing after being last spotted at Pugh’s Garden Centre in Morganstown, Cardiff, at around 1.45pm on Monday, April 7.
Officers said they were concerned for his welfare and they appealed for information. Sadly, police have now confirmed that a body was discovered in the River Taff, near Radyr, on Sunday.
As reported by Wales Online, formal identification is yet to take place but David's heartbroken family have been informed.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police officers searching for David Bevan, who was reported missing, located a body in the River Taff near Radyr on Sunday (April 13).
"While formal identification has yet to take place, David’s family has been informed."
Searches had taken place across the Cardiff area by police and the local community over the last week.
The initial statement from the force read: "David Bevan, from Pontypool, has been reported missing and there is concern for his welfare.
"David, 28, was last seen at around 1.45pm on Monday, April 7 at Pugh’s Garden Centre in Morganstown, Cardiff. He was wearing a distinctive, shiny black puffer coat with a white t-shirt, and was seen heading in the direction on Gwaelod y Garth.
"If you have seen David or have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact us quoting 2500110779."
