A US flight was forced into an emergency landing at Dublin Airport after a crew member suffered chest pains.

The flight was United Airlines Flight UA71, and it was headed from Amsterdam to Newark Airport in New Jersey.

According to Shaun's Aviation on X, the flight's pilots requested medical services met them on stand once they landed.

The aircraft landed safely just before 12:30pm in Dublin, and was met by rescue vehicles.

The plane took off from Dublin and back towards the States just after 2pm.

A United spokesperson told Dublin Live: "United flight 71 from Amsterdam to Newark landed safely in Dublin to address a health concern.

"We expect the flight to continue to Newark shortly."
