Lauren Walsh will go in search of a first Ladies European Tour title on Sunday as she ties for second place in the Joburg Open.
Poor weather conditions have plagued the tournament and it was announced on Saturday that the event would be reduced to 54 holes, and a second-round 69 keeps Walsh right in the hunt.
That moved her to nine-under par alongside Casandra Alexander of South Africa with the pair hoping to make up a three-shot deficit on England's Mimi Rhodes who also posted a 69 to move to 12-under.
Walsh did her work on the way out, picking up four birdies for a front nine of 33.
Her first dropped shot came at the par-five 10th but she made amends at the next par-five, the 13th, before finishing with five straight pars.
Sara Byrne will be around for the weekend as her level-par 73 left her on one-under par for the tournament – her round dotted with four birdies and four bogeys.
A 77 on Saturday meant that Annabel Wilson finished on six-over par, well outside the cut-line.
Two double bogeys on the back nine – at the 12th and 15th – ended any chance of extending her stay at Modderfontein Golf Club.
