Manchester United are in a race against time to bolster their squad before the January transfer window slams shut next week.

Ruben Amorim is said to be "frustrated" with the slow pace of incoming transfers as he aims to revamp his underperforming team and climb the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are believed to be negotiating for Lecce's left-back Patrick Dorgu, while there's growing speculation that both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho might exit this month. Antony has also joined Real Betis on loan until season's end.

Here's the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Garnacho and Nkunku swap deal

Alejandro Garnacho

A potential swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Alejandro Garnacho has been heavily linked, with Nkunku finding game time sparse under boss Enzo Maresca. ESPN reports that Garnacho might prefer a switch to Stamford Bridge if he has to leave Old Trafford and United's chiefs seem willing to sanction his departure to comply with PSR regulations.

Nkunku is also said to be open to a Chelsea exit after only three Premier League starts with Maresca at the helm.

The Italian gaffer opened up about the dilemma of having two top attacking midfielders, saying: "With Joao and Christo, most managers only play one attacking midfielder. They are top players, I like both, they struggle because most of the time we only play with one attacking midfielder. I am not saying they will leave."

Rashford 'willing' to take Barcelona pay cut

Rashford is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to facilitate his desired move to Barcelona. The United winger hasn't played for the team since December and made waves with his revelation that he's eyeing an exit from Old Trafford.

With top European clubs on high alert, including AC Milan and Barcelona, Rashford appears to be edging closer to a Catalonian switch. The financial situation at Barca could mean a loan deal is on the cards, as Mundo Deportivo reports that Rashford may take a pay cut to push through the transfer. However, this would still potentially involve Man United covering a substantial portion of his hefty wages.

Antony's Real Betis comments

Meanwhile, after joining Real Betis, Antony is said to be "very happy" with his new club.

The Brazilian winger swapped the red of Manchester United for the green and white stripes of Real Betis, sealing a loan move to the La Liga side for the remainder of the season. The former Ajax sensation, who became United's second most expensive signing ever with his £85million transfer in 2022, struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford, failing to secure a starting spot in any Premier League match this term.

Betis have thrown him a lifeline, offering an opportunity to reboot his career in Spain. Antony couldn't hide his excitement upon touching down in Spain, telling reporters at the airport: "I'm so happy, I'm ready."
